Illness during the oral examination phase

If you become ill during the examination phase, so that you are unfit to be examined for a period of time, you must immediately submit an informal written notification to the Vice Dean and apply for the rescheduling of your defence of the doctoral dissertation (disputation).

The application must be accompanied by a medical certificate.

As a rule, notification of the Examination Office must take place in writing, but in exceptional circumstances prior to the examination, by telephone, or – at the scheduled start of an oral examination – verbally by speaking directly to the examiners. The Vice Dean decides if the inability to sit the examination is acceptable and if another examination date for the oral examination will be set.

The Academic Examination Office will inform you of this decision.
